Telkom Kenya Names New CEO

Telkom Kenya has named Michael Ghossein as its new CEO. Ghossein, who served as CEO of Orange Jordan, will lead the company through the next strategic phase. He replaces Dominique Saint-Jean, who will take up a new role as senior advisor for France Telecom in East Africa.

Ghossein, a Lebanese national, brings over 23 years experience in the telecommunications industry. He has worked with France Telecom affiliates in Reunion Island, France, Romania, Bahrain and Jordan. Speaking at a media briefing, Ghossein commended his predecessors' leadership during the first phase of Telkom Kenya's strategic plan following France Telecom's acquisition of a majority stake in the national operator.

The new CEO joins a newly revitalized management team including Jane Karuku, head of support services; Stephen Kiptinness, head of regulatory affairs; Angela Ng'ang'a, head of corporate communications; and Mary Kita, head of human resources.
